The Just Transition

The transition to a world powered entirely by renewable energy is well underway as communities, businesses and governments increasingly harness the power of renewable energy technologies to heat homes, generate industry, light schools and drive transport.

The transition to 100% renewable energy is inevitable – fossil fuels by definition are finite and renewables offer so many benefits. Expanding renewable energy industries are unlocking new markets for employment, improving public health, boosting social equality, enhancing energy security and, crucially, helping to tackle climate change.

The world’s scientists and energy experts agree that we cannot afford to burn more than 2/3 of the remaining fossil fuel reserves if we want to avoid catastrophic levels of global warming this century. As such, more and more people are stepping up to develop renewables, to keep fossil fuels in the ground, and to be on the right side of history.
